"A Culture to Effectively Manage Risk"

Specialist Assurance Services Manager, Audit NZ

Raewyn Anderson is currently working in the Audit NZ Specialist Assurance Services team. Raewyn's scope of work in the public sector has been in local governments, central government and the health sector. Her work origins were in medical science and these shifted with her completion of an MBA to be focused on management of change and particularly the effectiveness of management practices. Her work has involved providing assurance over risk management developments, the organizational 'risk' context and the implementation of good practice risk management practices.

Raewyn will speak on how an organization's culture impacts on the effectiveness of its risk management systems and processes.
Raewyn's presentation will cover the following aspects:

  • Increased understanding of culture

  • Impacts of culture on risk management systems and processes

  • Senior management involvement

  • Integration of risk management into business practises and decision-making

  • keeping the risk management process manageable and liveable

  • conclusion and questions
